Getting started
What is Tend?
A calm wellness coach for small, kind daily care: movement, nutrition, mood, and gentle routines in one place.
Who is Tend for?
Adults who want gentle structure for their wellbeing. It is everyday support, not medical care.
Is Tend free?
Yes. Tend Pro adds advanced coaching, Cloud AI, and encrypted sync.
Do I need an account?
No. You only need one for Tend Pro, Cloud AI, and sync.
How do I manage reminders and notifications?
Adjust them under You, or in your Android settings. They stay gentle, with no streak pressure.
Your privacy and data
Where is my data stored?
On your phone. With sync on, only an encrypted copy goes to our secure cloud.
What does Tend send to the cloud, and when?
Only when you use a feature that needs it, like the AI Coach or sync. Never in the background.
What does Tend never send?
Your journal, mood, health, and Coach chats stay on your phone. No location, contacts, photos, or ads.
Do you sell or share my data?
Never. We do not sell your data or share it for ads.
What analytics do you collect, and can I turn them off?
Usage analytics is off unless you turn it on. Crash reports are on by default; you can turn them off in You → Privacy.
How do I export my data?
Export a copy from the app anytime. The file is yours, so keep it safe.
The AI Coach
What can the AI Coach help me with?
Small next steps, plans, and reflections that make your day easier to start.
Does the Coach give medical advice?
No, it is not a doctor. For anything urgent or medical, talk to a professional.
Does the Coach change my data on its own?
No. It asks first, and quick logs can be undone.
On-device or Cloud AI coaching?
Some runs on your phone. Cloud AI gives richer replies and needs sign-in, Tend Pro, and your OK.
What is Coach memory, and can I edit or delete it?
Helpful context Tend remembers so you do not repeat yourself. Review, edit, or delete it anytime.
Can I use Tend without the AI Coach?
Yes. Everything else works without it.
Tend Pro and billing
What is included with Tend Pro?
Advanced coaching, Cloud AI where available, and encrypted sync. You will see the full list before you subscribe.
How much does it cost, and how am I billed?
Your app store shows the price and renewal details before you buy. It renews until you cancel.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel anytime in your app store’s subscription settings. Refunds go through the app store.
How do I restore Tend Pro on a new phone?
Sign in with the same app store account, then open the membership screen if needed.
Sync, backup, and devices
Does Tend sync across devices?
With Tend Pro, turn on encrypted sync and restore your data on another phone.
How does encrypted backup work, and what is the recovery phrase?
Your data is encrypted before it leaves your phone. The recovery phrase is a secret only you know that unlocks it.
What if I lose my recovery phrase?
We cannot recover it, and that is what keeps it private. You would start fresh or use a copy still on your phone.
Health Connect
What does Tend do with Health Connect?
If you connect it, Tend shows data like steps and weight, and can save what you log back. It stays on your phone.
How do I change or revoke Health permissions?
Change it anytime in Health Connect or Android settings. Tend then stops reading and writing that data.
Account and deletion
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Open You → Account or Privacy & data, or email support@tend.fit. We delete your cloud data; anything on your phone goes when you delete it or uninstall. See Delete your account for the full steps.
